In a grand celebration of success, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to kick off the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit on Wednesday. The special guest for the event is the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed Bin Zayed. The vibrant occasion will witness the participation of over 1,000 exhibitors from 20 different countries, making it a truly global affair.
This year’s summit holds even more significance as it marks ’20 years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success.’ The Gujarat government spills the beans, revealing that 33 countries are participating as partners, and approximately 100 countries are joining as visiting trade shows. The venue itself will host 13 halls, each focusing on diverse themes such as ‘Make in Gujarat’ and ‘Self-reliant India.’

Prime Minister Modi is geared up to inaugurate the event sharp at 9:45 am on Wednesday in Gandhinagar. The trade show will be open to business enthusiasts on January 10-11, followed by a public opening on January 12-13.

1. Genesis in 2003
The Vibrant Gujarat Summit had its humble beginning in 2003 when Narendra Modi, then the Chief Minister, conceptualized the idea. The first edition took place during the Navratri festival, attracting more than 1,000 delegates and dignitaries from 45 countries.
2. Global Trade Show 2024
To kick start the festivities, PM Modi inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024 on the eve of the main summit. This sprawling exhibition covers 2 lakh square meters in multiple halls at the Helipad Ground Exhibition Centre, featuring participants from 20 countries.
3. Gateway to the Future
The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is being held in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12, carrying the theme ‘Gateway to the Future.’ This year’s summit involves 34 partner countries and 16 partner organizations, promising a glimpse into a forward-looking tomorrow.

4. Special Guest – UAE President
President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates will grace the inaugural event as the chief guest. The two leaders engaged in a bilateral meeting, sealing the deal with several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) after his arrival on Tuesday evening. PM Modi also held bilateral discussions with Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta and Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, both of whom will be part of the Summit.
