Dunki Trailer Released: Shah Rukh Khan On A Mission Beyond Borders

Dunki Trailer Released

It’s early December, but Shah Rukh Khan has managed to make temperatures soar, at least for his ardent fans. On December 5, the highly-anticipated trailer for Khan’s next cinematic venture, Dunki, was unveiled. This Bollywood masterpiece marks the first-ever collaboration between the iconic actor and celebrated filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. Following the release of the teaser and two soul-stirring songs, the Dunki trailer was dropped on Tuesday, sending fans into a frenzy.

Dunki, at its core, is a heartwarming tale of four friends and their audacious quest to reach foreign shores. The narrative unfolds in 1995, in a quaint village named Laltu. Shah Rukh Khan steps into the shoes of the protagonist, Hardy, and the trailer takes viewers on a rollercoaster ride through the dreams and struggles of Hardy and his companions, brilliantly portrayed by Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu.

What’s In The Dunki Trailer?

The Dunki trailer commences with Shah Rukh’s character, Hardy, revealing himself as he stands on the edge of a moving train compartment. The backdrop is set in the year 1995 in the picturesque village of Laltu. Hardy introduces his friends, including Sukhi (Vicky Kaushal), who grapples with the complexities of learning English, and Mannu (Taapsee Pannu), his unwavering defender against mockery for his imperfect English. Their camaraderie is palpable, and Mannu is affectionately referred to as Hardy’s “girl wali friend.”

Boman Irani makes a notable entry as their English teacher, promising to equip them with the necessary skills to qualify for a life abroad. The characters justify their aspiration to relocate overseas despite their language barrier by drawing a parallel to the era when the British ruled India without knowing Hindi.

As the friends embark on their journey, the trailer showcases their crossing of borders, facing multiple perils, and even wielding a gun in self-defense. However, the most striking revelation comes when Shah Rukh unveils his look as an elderly man 25 years later. Clad in a yellow and blue striped T-shirt with a distinguished grey beard, Hardy is seen participating in a race in the Dunki trailer. This marks Shah Rukh’s second portrayal as an old man, following Vikram Rathore in Atlee’s Jawan earlier this year.
